Jelena's legs ached and her lungs burned as she ran via the snow. Instinct drove her to the borders of her limits, and now she saw why–a lone high elf warrior fought off two massive argon kalashes with his swords. A floating iknephar's arms blazed with blue fire since it hurled wonder at him. A dozen scaled-down argons struck at his flanks, but he leaped just away from reach every one time. The warrior evaded the kalashes' blades, but his motions betrayed his fatigue.
He can be dead in moments. That he'd lived this extended was nothing much under a miracle.
Jelena unsung her own blades and went after the low-hanging fruit first. Her blades tore via the lesser argons' flimsy armor as she whirled via a sequence of quick slashes. The argons cried out in their eerie clickety tongue, and she knew she had their attention. One leaped at Jelena with its stabbing claws outstretched. She batted away the one blue talon, then reversed and stabbed it via its frontal plate. It twitched since it slid off of her blade.
