Was just thinking about
it
Everytime I log in for the first time or create a new character, I
immediately turn global chat off. The way I figure, if it's not happening around
me, I'm not concerned about it. It's helps my immersion, and adds to my own RP
experience. And The Secret World
Gold helps build a network of contacts for various needs, wants,
and such.
Then an idea hit me
Would removing global chat
entirely from the game encourage more congregation around social hubs? Would it
encourage people to come out of the cold, so to speak? Would it encourage
community building? * Would it help game lag (I seriously don't know, to be
honest).
Does global chat hurt more than helps?
*Believe it or
not, I'm not a big 'community' guy, despite being one of the more visible
members of the forums. I play the forums, sure, and use them for my own selfish
reasons, but I think they're vastly overrated and generally, they're a hindrance
more than an asset due to the signal/noise ratio.
